Dwyane Wade continued the tradition of jersey-swapping as part of his farewell tour on Saturday night.

After the Miami Heat's 117-88 beatdown of the reeling Brooklyn Nets, the three-time champion exchanged jerseys with first-time All-Star D'Angelo Russell.

D'Angelo Russell is considered as one of the fastest rising young stars in the Eastern Conference. He led the Nets to an impressive performance in the month of January, which saw the team become playoff contenders after starting the season as the 13th seed in the standings.

Wade is playing his final season in the league, and swapping jerseys with some of the league's future superstars is his way of passing the torch and acknowledging the talent that the new generation has.

Still, Dwyane Wade would like to end this season by helping the Heat reach the playoffs, but Miami's recent losses have caused them to fall out of the East's top eight. They still have a legitimate chance of making it back to the postseason race; however, they have to win most of their remaining games in order for them to do so.

As for the Nets, they have earned enough wins to remain as the sixth seed in the East, but they are also heading into the playoffs without any momentum. They have lost six of their last ten games, and it looks like things aren't going the way Brooklyn has planned.

But at the end of the day, it is great to see Wade recognize what Russell has become.
