After being traded from the Miami Heat at the beginning of the month, Wayne Eliington will be making his return to American Airlines Arena tonight.

With that in mind, the Heat have produced a tribute video for the guard to commemorate his time on the team:

The Heat shared the video above on their Twitter, celebrating the return of Ellington and thanking him for the time he spent playing for the Heat.

Wayne originally signed with Miami in 2016, and while Ellington didn’t win any awards or accolades with the Heat, he was crucial in helping them make the playoffs and giving them much needed shooting ability at the time. In 2017, Ellington also set the Miami Heat single-season record for most three-pointers in a season, hitting 227 throughout the year.

This season, his play has dipped a bit, as he’s averaging just 8.3 points in the 2018 season, but is shooting 37 percent from three, which makes him incredibly dangerous for any team that has to guard him.

Initially traded to the Phoenix Suns along with guard Tyler Johnson, Ellington was waived the following day in order to find a contending team to sign with, which he did in the Detroit Pistons. Now starting for the Pistons, Ellington hopes to see his play improve back to the levels that he is accustomed to, while also helping the Pistons make a final playoff push.

He’s only appeared in three games for the Pistons so far, but will likely be seeing some heavy minutes in his return to Miami.
