LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges showed out in Atlanta against the Hawks. Ball notched his third career triple-double, second this season, and Bridges dropped a career-high 35 points. Unfortunately, the Charlotte Hornets still lost the game.

Outside of Bridges, it was a pretty rough shooting night for the whole team. Ball shot the Ball pretty poorly from the field tonight along with Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward. Those four guys are relied upon heavily to gut out wins. They need at least two of them to shoot a pretty efficient game to get a win. Especially on the second night of a back to back.

Slow First Half

The Hornets have had slow starts to a lot of their games so far this season and they did it again against the Hawks. They were down by 12 at half time and set themselves up for the routine comebacks efforts we've seen them do.

This time they fell short. Cody Martin mentioned that they had some defensive lapses that they figured out later in the game, but it was just too late. They made one last push in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter. If they can build up some consistency early in the game, they should be able to find a nice rhythm to close teams out for good.

Bridges MIP Campaign Continues

Miles Bridges is still making a strong case for the Most Improved Player Award after his career night. This was his fifth time this season toppling over 30 points this season. He led the charge to get the Hornets back into the game after being down by as much as 17 points. Bridges helped them bring the game within in just six points in the final two minutes.

It sucks when your best players play stellar games, but you fall short. No ones hanging their head though. They have a day off to watch film and forget about this loss, to play the Wizards come Monday. Hopefully, they have a great performance, but this time it ends in a win.
