The Charlotte Hornets have agreed to a four-year, $56 million contract extension with forward/center Cody Zeller, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

The 7-footer posted career-highs last season with 8.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 0.9 blocks last season coming off the bench.

The Indiana product finds himself in an excellent situation as starting center Roy Hibbert sits with knee soreness. He's shown lots of promise during his first few years and has an opportunity to make an impact and make a claim for more minutes as the temporary starting center.

Cody Zeller is averaging 10.7 points, five rebounds and 1.7 blocks through three games into the young season.
