Hornets forward Frank Kaminsky will undergo a minor procedure on Wednesday to repair a pocket of air between his lung and chest wall. The procedure will keep Kaminsky out of the Pro Summer League in Orlando. He is expected to recover in approximately six weeks.

Although Kaminsky would have been able to play with the issue, the procedure will relieve discomfort for him.

In his rookie year, Kaminsky averaged 7.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game, appearing in 81 games with three total starts. The former Wisconsin star was one of only two rookies who notched over 600 points, 300 rebounds and 50 3-pointers last season. Despite the minor setback, Kaminsky is expected to prove an important piece of the puzzle of solidifying the Hornets offense this year.
