Kemba Walker has some lofty goals for the upcoming season. After making his first All-Star team back in February, the Charlotte Hornets star now has set his sights on making an All-NBA team for the first time as well, per theScore’s Victoria Nguyen.

“‘All-NBA would be a huge honor, a huge challenge for myself,' the 27-year-old Bronx native said Thursday at an NBA 2K18 preview event in New York.”

Apart from his individual goals, Walker also has plans to get his team back to the playoffs after missing out last season.

“I definitely want to continue to make the All-Star team, of course, but the main goal is to get my team to the playoffs,” he said.

“I hate missing the playoffs,” he admitted. “It's like we get in, then we're not, we miss it, then we're in. I want to be more consistent making the playoffs so hopefully we start that this season.”

Walker had a career year in 2016-17, as he put up a career-high 23.2 points with 5.5 assists per game. He also shot the ball very well, going 44 percent from the floor and 40 percent from beyond the arc.

Walker will have a tough task ahead of him in terms of breaking into an All-NBA team given all the great guards around the league (Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Chris Paul, John Wall, and Kyrie Irving, to lead the pack).

Making another All-Star team should be more attainable, though, as is leading the Hornets back to the playoffs.

With the Hornets addressing their main weaknesses by getting Dwight Howard and Malik Monk this offseason and at least three East playoffs teams from a year ago set to get much worse, the window of opportunity is wide open for Kemba Walker and the Hornets to swoop back into the playoff picture.
