The Hornets are set to pay homage to one of their beloved color schemes in the coming season. According to an official report from the team, Charlotte will wear their classic purple and teal uniforms at times throughout the 2018-19 campaign.

Charlotte's purple and teal colorway instantly conjures up memories of yesteryear, as the team sported the colors between 1988 and 2002. Some players who have suited up in the distinct jerseys include Alonzo Mourning, Muggsy Bogues, Dell Curry, Chris Paul, David West and Larry Johnson.

The Hornets will look a bit different for the 2019-20 season, as Kemba Walker was traded to the Boston Celtics for Terry Rozier in the offseason. Like many others who have worn the purple and teal, Walker became a beloved member of the team. Now, however, he'll look to make waves in Beantown.

Walker's departure leaves the door of opportunity open for Rozier, who showed flashes of greatness as a backup with the Celtics. His upside is evident, and now he'll have a chance to play a starting role.

Charlotte finished the 2018-19 regular season with a 39-43 overall record, which left the team just out of playoff contention (ninth in the Eastern Conference standings). Hopefully, with new faces joining the roster and a nostalgic jersey on their backs, the Hornets will find their way back into the hunt.
