Looks like “Dame Time” has competition as the best clutch show on television. Here comes Charlotte Hornets’ guard Terry Rozier, who’s been huge late in games this season. According to Statmuse, Rozier in the clutch is averaging 55.6 FG%, 54.2 in 3P% and 89.5 FT% making this the best mark by any player with 20 and more attempts in crunch time. Talk about efficiency in the fourth quarter.

While Damian Lillard certainly has established himself as one of the best closers to ever play the game, Rozier is making his case as a lethal late-game playmaker. One of his iconic successful games in the clutch happened this season versus the Golden State Warriors, where he knocked down a jumper to seal the game.

Rozier has been an important piece for the Hornets’ success this season. Scary Terry is averaging 20.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists this season. This has been his best season so far in his six year career which started with the Boston Celtics. And now with rookie standout LaMelo Ball out for probably the whole season, Rozier is expected to carry the Hornets a little more.

The Hornets are still in good shape to make it to the playoffs. Believe it or not, they’re fourth in the somewhat competitive Eastern Conference standings with the record of 24-22. Terry and his team are coming off a good game versus the Washington Wizards who they defeated despite Russell Westbrook’s impressive triple double. They’ll be going up against Eastern Conference favorites Brooklyn Nets, Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics and Oklahoma City Thunder in the next few days.
