The Charlotte Hornets are still far from the playoffs as they're starting their rebuild in the aftermath of Kemba Walker's departure. However, it seems like the rebuild won't last long as Devonte' Graham is the latest young Hornet to show huge potential.

Charlotte's 113-108 victory over the superstar-less Brooklyn Nets saw Graham sink an incredible seven three-pointers. However, the amazing thing isn't only the 58% accuracy from three-point land. NBA's official stats page raved about the second-year point guard's performance over the last five games by harking back to the time Kemba was wearing Charlotte colors.

Graham, the 34th selection in the 2018 Draft by the Atlanta Hawks, saw a significant spike in his performance ever since Walker walked from the team. He quickly blossomed into an outstanding point guard who can shoot daggers and make the right pass like the best of them.

Through 26 games he's played for the Hornets this season, he's averaged 19 points, four rebounds, and eight assists on 41/42/81 shooting splits. It's not bad to expect his figures getting better as he gets more experienced in the league.

He has undoubtedly taken the starting job for the Hornets. Moreover, he's an easy favorite to win Most Improved Player alongside Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam.

The man himself, who spent four years at Kansas, is thankful for the opportunities given to him early in his NBA career.

“I definitely didn’t expect to have this big of a start, this big of a role,” Graham said, per NBA's Steve Aschburner. “But sometimes you’ve got to live in the moment and accept it, and keep playing and being aggressive.

“I keep saying that it’s opportunity and confidence. Playing time, with putting in the work this summer, my teammates and coaches have a lot of confidence in me. And I do in myself, just coming out and being aggressive.”

it's going to be an interesting season for the Hornets with a player like Graham taking the point.
