After reaching a significant milestone against the Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets center Dwight Howard made another impressive piece of history against the Chicago Bulls.

Howard put up 25 points, 20 rebounds, and six blocks against the Bulls. In doing so, he became the first player in Bobcats/Hornets history with at least 25 points, 20 boards, and five blocks in a game, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Unfortunately, Howard’s huge game wasn’t enough for the struggling Hornets to avoid a 119-111 loss, their sixth in the last seven games.

Howard had previously had two games of at least 20 points, 20 rebounds, and five blocks, both of which came within a three-day span in 2008. However, it’s the first time in his career that he’s scored 25 points to go along with 20 boards and five rejections.

Howard is having quite a career resurgence in his first season in Charlotte. He’s averaging over 15 points per game, his highest in three years, and is still one of the league leaders in rebounding at 12 per game.

With the Hornets significantly shorthanded along the frontcourt at the moment after Frank Kaminsky suffered a sprained ankle and Cody Zeller went down with a torn meniscus, Howard will have to come up with a few more impressive performances to help lift the team out of its current slump.
