Remember the time when NBA fans couldn't stop laughing at the Charlotte Hornets giving Gordon Hayward a $120 million contract? Well, Dwyane Wade wants to remind them that their comments didn't age well.

Since joining the Hornets in the offseason after a failed three-year stint with the Boston Celtics, Hayward has been balling out. He put his team on his broad shoulders once again on Sunday with a game-winner against the Orlando Magic to give the Hornets their seventh win of the season. The 30-year-old Hayward finished with 39 points on 15-25 shooting and nine rebounds.

Wade definitely is taking notice. The three-time NBA champion took to Twitter to silence all the hate surrounding Hayward's massive contract.

Hayward has made it a point so far this season to let his game do the talking, with all the slander surrounding his eye-popping contract slowly fading away each game. The former Butler standout is averaging career-highs of 23.1 points and 50.2 percent field goal shooting, leading the young Hornets core and providing leadership to the likes of Devonte' Graham, LaMelo Ball, and Miles Bridges.

Hayward has also managed to knock down more three-pointers this season, making 2.1 of his 5.1 attempts prior to Sunday's contest. Against the Magic, the steady forward converted a season-high of five three-pointers, his fourth game this campaign when he's been able to knock down at least four long range bombs.

It's still too early to make any predictions for the Hornets this season but so far, Gordon Hayward has proven that he's definitely worth every penny.
