The Charlotte Hornets are heading to Boston to take on the Celtics for a Wednesday night affair. The Hornets are fresh off a win against the New York Knicks. It was one of their better games of the season, and now they're looking forward to carrying that momentum into Beantown. Charlotte did have a couple of key players missing in that game, including LaMelo Ball with an illness. So, is LaMelo Ball playing vs. the Celtics?

Is Hornets star LaMelo Ball playing vs. Celtics

Ball is primed and ready to go. The Hornets star was actually available to play vs. the Knicks, but James Borrego opted not to play him. Hopefully, Ball got his rest, took some medicine, and is prepared to play tonight. Ball is in the midst of an All-Star campaign while his team is in perfect position to make the playoffs. Boston isn't too far away from them in the standings, so this game is more important than the casual fan may realize.

There's also more good news: Kelly Oubre Jr. has cleared health and safety protocols. Oubre has been the first man off the bench for the Hornets this season and has done a fantastic job. He is averaging a little over 16 points a game and appears to be in the running for the Sixth Man of the Year Award. The team went 3-1 in his absence, but Charlotte is glad to have him back, assuming he does return for this game.

Oubre is currently questionable, but Terry Rozier chimed in after shootaround and mentioned how the forward “has won a lot of games for us. It's always good to have one of our important players back.”

Thankfully, it seems both LaMelo Ball and Kelly Oubre Jr. are back to tip the scales a little more in the Hornets' favor to secure a crucial win.
