The Charlotte Hornets made their playoff ambitions clear prior to the 2017-18 NBA season. Although they have gotten off to a rough start to their end goal, the Hornets have had an unlikely player emerge as a major contributor.

Former first-round pick Jeremy Lamb has enjoyed quite the resurgence after an inauspicious start to his career. According to Seerat Sohi of SB Nation, it did not come without its fair share of trials and tribulations.

“There were times I felt like I was almost out the league,” Lamb said. “I don't know my exact lowest point, but I was up and down from the D-League. I was on the bench for three years. It was real tough during that time.”

After being drafted by the Houston Rockets, Lamb was considered an integral piece in the trade for superstar James Harden. However, his tenure with the Thunder soon failed to live up to expectations. He spent the subsequent years bouncing up and down from the D-League before finally settling down with the Hornets.

Lamb's first two years in Charlotte were relatively quiet after assuming a bench role. However, he is enjoying a career-year in the backcourt alongside former college teammate and All-Star point guard, Kemba Walker. Lamb has since become the Hornets' second-leading scorer this season with 15.9 points per game.
