Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker has been at the center of the team's trade rumors as of late. However, it seems he is not ready to leave without continuing to make his mark in franchise history.

The Hornets went into the third game of their road trip hoping to get a much-needed to victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Needless to say, Walker delivered with a franchise-record nine 3-pointers per Charlotte's PR:

Contrary to his usual style of scoring, Walker did most of his damage from deep after going 12-of-20 from the field. He also added six assists and two rebounds en route to a 123-110 victory over the Hawks.

It was a bit surprising to see Walker go off from the 3-point line. While he has shown to be capable of hitting from deep, he is not necessarily the most lethal threat as a career 35 percent 3-point shooter. Furthermore, his efficiency has gone down after some solid improvement over the last two seasons. The closest Walker has gotten to matching his historic night this season was when he made six against the L.A. Clippers in mid-November. However, he was able to find his stroke on Wednesday night.

That said, it seems Walker is doing his best to remind Charlotte of why he has been their franchise player ever since its rebranding a few years ago. However, it remains to be seen whether owner Michael Jordan and the team is actually ready to pull the trigger on potentially trading their most successful draft pick.
