Charlotte Hornets star guard LaMelo Ball burst onto the scene in his first season in the NBA. He had the dazzling, highlight reel passes, the crafty finishes at the rim and he looked so comfortable doing it all.

That comfortability has been validated by Ball and it's something rare to see with someone who's so young into their NBA career. And it now appears the Hornets have struck gold with the pick. Via, Tyler Tynes of GQ, Ball has had his stardom and his NBA career planned out for quite some time.

“My whole life, I always knew I was going to the NBA,” he says. “I always knew. Everything about this felt normal to me. I knew I'd have stardom. I grew up into it. I already had my life planned out. My whole life, I thought I was the star…. I ain't even gonna say I'm a rock star. It's something other than that. I'm something rare.”

The confidence from the Hornets' 2020 first-round pick is contagious and has clearly already spread throughout Charlotte's roster.

Ball is constantly asked what his message is to his younger fans and those who already look up to him. He responded in a way that only LaMelo could.

“Everybody always asks me what's my slogan—kids, old people, adults. Two words, breh: Be you. Because if you ain't you, you being somebody else and you already fuc*** up from the jump. So now whatever you trying to do, it ain't never you.”

The Hornets have a real one in LaMelo Ball.
