Charlotte Hornets rookie LaMelo Ball sustained a wrist injury in the second quarter of their game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night. Despite taking a bad fall, the 19-year-old guard still played through the pain until he was pulled out of the game in the final quarter. The Hornets will have a better grasp on the situation once they get more details on Sunday, per Rod Boone.

The Hornets struggled right from the get-go even prior to Ball's hard fall. Things got even worse as they missed his scoring and playmaking abilities on the floor against a more talented Clippers side.

Ball eventually finished with 13 points, five rebounds, and two assists through 21 minutes played against the Clippers. His Hornts teammate in Miles Bridges picked up the slack as he topped the team in scoring with 21 points, three rebounds, and four assists.

However, their collaborative efforts weren't enough as they didn't have an answer to a Clippers squad that dominated from start to finish. Paul George registered 21 points and 10 assists, while Kawhi Leonard scored 17 points of his own to lift their team to a 125-98 victory.

With the loss, the Hornets extended their losing skid as they dropped down to a 20-21 tally for the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference. Though Ball's situation is still uncertain, his potential absence will definitely serve as a huge blow to a Hornets team seeking to get back in the win column.

Gordon Hayward, Terry Rozier, and Devonte' Graham will definitely have to step up in their coming games in order to buy more time for LaMelo Ball to get back to full health.
