The Charlotte Hornets have been a surprise team in the Eastern Conference. They currently sit in sixth place with a record of 20-20. Rookie LaMelo Ball has taken the league by storm so far and seems to be the main catalyst of the Hornets' success. He's currently averaging 16 points, 6.2 assists, and 5.9 rebounds per game, making him a fantastic all-around player for Charlotte.

However, it seems the rookie phenom enjoys having fun as well. It's no secret Michael Jordan owns the Hornets. He likely enjoys spending some time with the team as much as he can as well. Some workplaces like to advertise they have a “family environment,” and it seems Ball has taken that meaning to heart, per Bleacher Report.

It seems Ball has given the greatest basketball player of all time the nickname “Unc,” short for uncle. An unusual, but funny nickname to give to a boss, but considering it's MJ, it takes the nickname to a new level.

Maybe one day we'll hear LaMelo Ball refer to Jordan as “Uncle GOAT.” Either way, it's nice to see Ball enjoying himself while also playing at a high-level. It gives the organization and Hornets fans alike a piece of mind knowing their star rookie is laid back and relaxed for now. However, it is hilarious to think about Michael Jordan's reaction to being called “Unc,” considering how serious he seems to be all of the time.
