Charlotte Hornets point guard Terry Rozier has been disciplined by the NBA. The league office fined the fifth-year guard $25,000 for an incident that occurred during the Hornets' 104-102 overtime loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday, December 27.

Thinking the game was over at the end of regulation, Rozier threw the ball into the stands in celebration. The game, however, was going into overtime. For his actions, Rozier was given a technical foul that was assessed at the start of the overtime period.

The loss moved the Hornets to 13-21 on the season which is good for ninth place in the Eastern Conference. After losing All-Star point guard Kemba Walker in the offseason, expectations weren't exactly high. On the other hand, the Hornets signed Terry Rozier from the Boston Celtics after agreeing to a lucrative three-year $58 million contract.

The Hornets have been competitive at times this season and Rozier has made a solid impact on the team. The 25-year-old's 17.6 points per game are the second-highest mark on the team. Furthermore, Rozier adds 4.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists to his per-game totals.

However, Rozier hasn't been the best player for Charlotte this season. Second-year guard Devonte Graham has seemingly come out of nowhere to average nearly 20 points and over seven assists per game.

With Rozier signing a near-60 million dollar contract recently, the point guard can certainly handle the $25,000 fine. Regardless,  Terry Rozier‘s actions couldn't have come at a worse time in the game and possibly cost the team the win.

The Hornets face off against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday, December 29.
