On Christmas Day, the Charlotte Hornets (12-21) officially announced that they intend to send their two selections from the 2017 NBA Draft down to their G League affiliate, as stated by their Twitter account on Monday afternoon.

The duo of 2017 draft picks in guard Malik Monk and forward Dwayne Bacon will both report to the Greensboro Swarm effective immediately, which will be their first stint in the G League this season.

The announcement was made earlier today by general manager Rob Cho. Monk, who was selected him with the 11th overall pick out of the University of Kentucky, has appeared in 29 games for the Hornets and currently averages 5.9 points, 1.5 assists and 1.1 rebounds per game in roughly 14.5 minutes of action per contest.

Bacon, who was drafted No. 40 overall out of Florida State University, has appeared in 28 games for the Hornets and averages of 3.6 points and 3.1 rebounds. Charlotte continues to struggle this season early on, as the team is currently five games back of the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race and six games behind the Washington Wizards in the Southeast Division standings.
