After a modestly successfulĀ  last year all things considered, the Charlotte Hornets are in a pretty good spot. They shocked the world by becoming playoff contenders last season behind LaMelo Ball's heroics. Despite being knocked out in the Play-In Tournament, there's plenty to like about this young and hungry squad.

It doesn't come as a surprise, then, that their new rookie is already excited to play for the team. Mark Williams, the Hornets' first-round pick in the 2022 NBA draft, talked about how excited he is to play with the electric Ball brother. (via Sam DiGiovanni of ClutchPoints)

LaMelo Ball built a name for himself as one of the most electrifying offensive forces on the planet. The Hornets star has dazzled fans with his playmaking and scoring ability. Ball's ability to run a pick-and-roll efficiently is a great boon for Williams, who projects to be the former's main partner in the action.

The Hornets almost had two selections in the 2022 NBA draft. However, in a shocking turn of events, the team traded their 13th overall pick to the New York Knicks. It's a rather bizarre move, one that netted them a 2023 first-round pick, four second-rounders, and a bevy of confused reactions from NBA fans.

Still, no one will bat an eye at their moves if they somehow make it work next season. The Hornets will likely have high expectations for Williams, mainly due to his ability to protect the rim and being a vertical threat on offense. Once again, they'll be gunning for at least a playoff spot next season.
