Even though the Charlotte Hornets have little hope to even grab a playoff spot next season, incoming second-year forward Miles Bridges is optimistic about the team's chemistry.

The Michigan State product spoke on how the Hornets showed the league how connected they are as a team through their Summer League play.

“I feel like that’s a big part of it on the court,” Bridges told Roderick Boone of The Athletic when discussing Charlotte's off-court relationship. “Guys that typically get along off the court seem to do well on the court. And I feel like that showed in summer league. I think our chemistry was second to none on the court. I feel like it’s that’s big for us hanging out off the court.”

Both the Hornets and Bridges had an impressive Summer League. The Hornets' young players showed flashes of great play, and Devonte Graham and Dwyane Bacon stood out in particular. Bridges averaged 13.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in four games.

The Hornets are an extremely young team that will need cohesion to get through the 2019-20 season and improve. It is virtually guaranteed that this team will lose plenty of games, so it just matters what the players get out of the experience.

We'll have to wait and see if the Charlotte youngsters can keep their heads and grow through the upcoming season. Behind Bridges and Bacon, a bright future is not too far away for the Hornets.
