Five years ago, a 52-year-old Michael Jordan confidently said he could beat his Charlotte Hornets players one-on-one. However, he admitted he didn't want to do that so as to not shatter their confidence. Considering Charlotte's current roster make-up, perhaps he can confidently say that right now, as well.

Hornets sophomore forward Miles Bridges recently saw the headline, and now he wants to step up to the plate and challenge His Airness:

So, it will be 57-year-old Michael Jordan versus 22-year-old Miles Bridges, mano a mano then? That is, of course, if MJ accepts.

If they were both in their primes, there's obviously no way Bridges would have any chance against Jordan. But considering Jordan's age, perhaps Bridges might have a shot at taking down the six-time NBA champion. Jordan certainly never lacks in confidence. With the 6-foot-8 forward throwing down the gauntlet, perhaps the GOAT's eternally competitive juices will start flowing again.

Former Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist revealed in 2013 that he went one-on-one with Jordan in practice once. Apparently, that didn't end up too well for him. Be careful what you ask for Mr. Bridges. He may be 57, but this is Michael Jordan we're talking about here.

ESPN's 10-part documentary “The Last Dance” featuring the Chicago Bulls' 1997-98 season has once again put the five-time MVP in the spotlight. It also serves as a reminder for the younger generation that Jordan is the undisputed greatest basketball player of all time.

Perhaps Miles Bridges didn't get the memo.
