The Charlotte Hornets got punched in the mouth by the visiting Atlanta Hawks on Sunday night, 113-91. It was just one of the nights for the Hornets. Shots weren't falling for them. They shot a putrid 4-of-36 from deep for only 11%. Everyone just had an off night tonight.

Hornets coach James Borrego had very little to say about his team's performance.

“We couldn't make shots. So, we move on. We just couldn't make shots,” said Borrego.

He was clearly not happy, but Borrego lauded their effort on the defensive end.

“We competed defensively, our defense was trying. What are we gonna do, hold them to 80 points? We move on. We'll find a way to find more shots in Toronto,” added Borrego.

As upset as he appeared to be, he also mentioned he liked how his team stuck together and that they grew mentally. It's not every day that you only hit four three-pointers in a game, so at least he was able to find the silver lining in the Hornets' loss.

Hornets forward Miles Bridges had a huge claim of his own after their forgetful night from beyond the arc.

“I promise you we will not shoot 11% again. That will never happen again. That's not an excuse for our defense though. They were getting whatever they wanted. Trae (Young) did a great job getting his teammates involved. He was on fire tonight. But I promise you we will not go 11% again,” said Bridges.

Sounds very believable. The Hornets have been one of the more efficient teams from deep this season. They have a space-and-pace kind of offense and spring open for a ton of three-pointers whenever they can. Unfortunately, guys just couldn't find their stroke against the Hawks.

“Gotta control what we can. We couldn't control the shots going down today. They were making everything. We just gotta chalk it up & move on to the next game,” noted Bridges.

The Hornets face off against the Toronto Raptors for the first time this season on Tuesday. Buzz City fans should keep a close eye on this game, especially since Bridges made a promise that he needs to make sure that he keeps.
