The Charlotte Hornets lost to the Miami Heat in double overtime Thursday night, 111-107. The Hornets could have won the game at the end of the first overtime, but newly acquired Montrezl Harrell missed a free throw with less than two seconds remaining. Harrell is clearly not very happy with himself as he took to social media.

Harrell posted on Twitter: “Man I'm fu$&ing sick right now. Smh they free trezz… hit it we go home!” The Hornets new big man is pointing the finger at himself, and yes, the team likely would have won had he sank that free throw. With 1.7 seconds remaining in overtime, Harrell went to the line with Charlotte trailing by one. He sank the first free throw but missed the second, sending the game to double OT.

Despite the missed free throw, the Hornets likely would not have even made it to overtime without Harrell. He finished the game with 24 points, eight rebounds, a steal and a block. He shot nine for 16 from the floor.

Thus far, Harrell has been everything the Hornets were hoping for when they acquired him at the trade deadline.

The Hornets looked like they would be a legitimate threat earlier this season. But the team has fallen apart over the last few weeks. They enter the All-Star break having lost nine of their last 10 games and have fallen all the way to the #9 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Charlotte hopes that this break is the reset the team needs. LaMelo Ball has struggled lately and alongside Miles Bridges needs to be the catalyst if this team is going to make the postseason.
