Charlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier just secured the bag. The 27-year-old has signed a max extension with the Hornets that will keep him under team control until 2026, via The Athletic's Shams Charania:

Rozier now becomes one of the highest paid guards in the league with this four-year, $97 million deal which will see him make $24.2 million per season. The former Louisville standout enjoyed a breakout season with the Hornets in 2020/21, averaging 20.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists as Charlotte just missed out on the playoffs after losing in the Play-In Tournament to the Indiana Pacers. Across the board, that was Rozier's best campaign yet since coming into the NBA back in 2015 with the Boston Celtics.

Alongside LaMelo Ball in the Hornets backcourt, the duo was electric and will now be together for the foreseeable future. With another promising guard in James Bouknight now in the fold, James Borrego's squad has a very promising core of versatile offensive weapons. Rozier and Ball are also tremendous playmakers who have evidently made their teammates better on a nightly basis.

Rozier was making just under $18 million last season. It's safe to say he's definitely been given a raise by the Hornets as they look to get back into the playoffs in 2021/22.
