The Charlotte Hornets are finding a nice rhythm. They have pieced together two-straight wins now and it is due in large part to Terry Rozier, who dropped 30 points on Monday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

So far in the month of March, Rozier is averaging 26 points per game and has had five games where he's toppled over 25 points. The Hornets are fighting for their playoff lives, so he is peaking at the perfect time. Rozier's energy seemed to be contagious because everyone seemed like they were in a groove. Seriously, literally all 12 guys scored for Charlotte against Oklahoma City.

This isn't the first month on March that Rozier has put up high scoring numbers. In 2021, he averaged 21 points down the stretch when the Hornets were fighting for a playoff spot. James Borrego knows this and had some incredible things to say about his guard's hot streak.

“This is his time of year. He's gonna will this team. He has great confidence, poise, and we're gonna need that down the stretch. He's playing great right now,” Borrego explained.

As one of the veterans on this team, he is doing a great job at setting an example for the younger guys to follow. Along with Montrezl Harrell and Isaiah Thomas, this team can turn this ship around slowly but surely as the season wanes.

Rozier is the head of the twin headed snake alongside LaMelo Ball, who finished with 21 points of his own.

Anyway, Rozier was pretty hype about his start as well and it could be because it is his birth month.

“Not to sound cocky, but I feel like every year in March, I'm not sure if it's because it's my birth month, but I kinda take off,” the veteran guard explained.

Until someone comes up with a better reason, that's what everyone is inclined to believe. The Hornets are going to need him to put up numbers like Monday night for the rest of the season. They have an important five-game home-stand coming up and it starts with the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks leap-frogged them in the Eastern Conference standings and now hold the sole possession of the ninth seed.

Fortunately, the game will be in Charlotte, so maybe that can give the Hornets a boost. Rozier had just one all important message for fans though: “We know we gotta do our job, but I wanna challenge the fans. If you have any type of love for the Hornets, come out and support us. We're gonna need the whole city.”

So if you're reading this, better get a move on. It's not too late to check some Hornets basketball! They're going to need their sixth man in the stands cheering them on.
