Charlotte Hornets point guard Terry Rozier appears to have finally found his form of late. Following a big-money offseason move from the Boston Celitcs, the 25-year-old had a relatively slow start for his new squad. Nevertheless, despite currently averaging across the board career-best numbers, Rozier firmly believes that he still has a lot to prove.

“I feel like I ain’t proved shit yet and it’s not to the doubters,” Rozier said, via Roderick Boone of The Athletic. “I give a damn what they say. It’s more to my loved ones, to my family. People that look at me and I really know how much they care about me. Those are the ones that I really want to show what I can do. And like I said, I haven’t showed them nothing yet and I want to keep improving.”

Right now, Rozier is averaging 18.3 points (on 42.4 percent shooting), 4.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.2 steals, while also connecting on 2.7 3-pointers per game on a 39.9-percent clip. Those are some pretty impressive numbers right there, but given how hard Rozier is on himself, it is obvious that he knows how he is capable of so much more.

The Hornets are in the midst of one of their most frustrating slumps of the campaign, and have now lost six straight games. Nonetheless, they still have an odd chance to make a postseason appearance in a wide open Eastern Conference, as they currently sit just four and a half games behind the eighth-seeded Brooklyn Nets.

One things is certain, though — Rozier will need to further elevate his game if he hopes to lead this young Hornets side to a respectable season, despite the low expectation most experts have on their squad.
