Terry Rozier and the Charlotte Hornets fell short yet again, but this time at the hands of the Utah Jazz on Monday night, 112-102. On the bright side, they outscored the Jazz in the final three quarters of the game to make it competitive in the final minutes of the fourth.

However, the Hornets had another sloppy first quarter, just like they have for most of this road trip. The Hornets were down 35-16 after the first quarter and it's a reoccurring trend they do not want to continue. They have to find a way to shake those rough shooting starts.

It also doesn't help when you're down a veteran presence in Gordon Hayward. Fortunately, they still had Terry Rozier do his best to lead his team to victory, especially, in the fourth quarter. Even so, Rozier is still trying to find the answers to their slow starts as well.

When he was asked about what's going on in the opening quarter he responded with this:

“I don’t know, we’ve been trying to figure that out. We gotta keep believing. We’ve been playing some tough teams that really move the ball well. It just never helps when we don’t make shots. We haven’t been doing that early in the game as a team. But we’ve been getting good looks, so we just have to stay confident. We’re gonna be alright, we definitely will.”

Terry Rozier has been a victim of these shooting slumps pretty much all season long. Remember, he was dealing with a nagging ankle injury in the beginning of the season. Then, when he was finding a nice rhythm, he missed a handful of game due to health and safety protocols. It just seems like he can't catch a break, so seeing him come alive in the fourth is a great sign for the Hornets.

Not to be out down by Scary Terry, LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges carried their weight as well. Both finished with 20 point double-doubles and helped the Hornets get as close to within three points of tying the game. We all know how resilient this team is. They just have to stop shooting themselves in the foot early in the game. Instead, they find themselves fighting an uphill battle for 36 minutes.

The Hornets have one more game in Denver on Thursday. That would be one dope Christmas gift for Charlotte fans if they can secure a win in Mile High City!
