Scary Terry can pass? Who said Scary Terry could pass?

This reaction is coming off the Charlotte Hornets' narrow victory over the Miami Heat, who are still sadly without the services of recent acquisition Victor Oladipo. Not to be outshined by his passing, Rozier also tallied 26 points on 50% shooting (40% from three). Fellow spark plug Malik Monk also chipped in an efficient 32 points off the bench  (12-17, 5-9 from three). The night was punctuated by this nifty little lob from Rozier himself to Miles Bridges:

The Hornets definitely miss Lamelo Ball's (broken hand) substantial services, but if Terry Rozier is able to continue having nights like this, ‘scary' is the right word for him and the rest of the team, especially when Ball comes back. The Hornets have quietly taken possession of the Eastern Conference's 4th seed, and after a number of years away from the playoffs, are poised to earn home court advantage for the first round of this upcoming postseason if they keep following this trajectory.

Ball has been highlighted as the team's primary weapon and facilitator, and Rozier has at least been a solid second scoring option (20.3 PPG this season) along with Monk and Gordon Hayward. Hopefully for Charlotte, more performances like this could be on the horizon for Rozier, who does not necessarily have the reputation of a primary playmaker (3.3 APG this season, 2.7 career).

The Hornets are evolving as one of this season's more fun stories. Even better, they are dangerous enough on the offensive end to keep up with the NBA's best scoring lineups. If Terry Rozier keeps turning in performances like tonight's, he and they will be scary indeed.
