The Washington Wizards take on the Charlotte Hornets on Friday and Wizards head coach Scott Brooks knows his team is going to have to do a good job on Hornets All-Star point guard Kemba Walker if they want to win the game.

Brooks says Walker is one of the best pick-and-roll players in the NBA and a “nightmare” to defend.

In 57 games this season for the Hornets, Walker is averaging 24.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.6 assists per contest. The three-time All-Star guard is shooting 43.1 percent from the field, 36.2 percent from beyond the arc and 83.0 percent from the free-throw line.

If Brooks and the Wizards want to make the playoffs this season, they have to go on a huge second half run. Washington is 24-34 on the season, 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Hornets are 27-30, seventh place in the East. Charlotte is looking to make the postseason for the first time since 2016. Walker becomes a free agent this summer, so it's important the Hornets go on a good playoff run so that Kemba comes back in the summer.

The Wizards will probably put All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal on Walker on Friday. It should be a competitive game between two hungry teams.
