Veteran forward Nicolas Batum of the Charlotte Hornets turned back the clock by spiking one over Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In the clip below posted by NBA on Twitter, the Frenchman caught everyone by surprise by driving to the hoop and unleashing a slam over Towns. The 23-year-old probably thought that he could easily deny the old man's shot. But Batum had other ideas: he wanted to take it strong to the ring.

Sadly, it was the only bucket scored by the 30-year-old Batum. However, the Hornets got the win, 113-106. Star guard Kemba Walker led all scorers with 31 points, along with six assists and five rebounds. Jeremy Lamb added 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Marvin Williams had 13 markers as well.

For the Timberwolves, Towns dropped 21 points and snagged 16 rebounds. Andrew Wiggins was not far behind with 20 points. Dario Saric contributed 15 points and rebounds.

The Wolves are virtually out of the playoff race. But the goal is still to sneak in a few victories, gain experience, and run their plays. The Hornets, meanwhile, are currently in 10th place in the Eastern Conference. Their playoff hopes will depend on their ability to win the last few games. They should pray, too, that the Miami Heat (eighth spot) and the Orlando Magic (ninth spot) will lose their remaining games.
