NBA players need to be careful about what they say about the Golden State Warriors. It probably isn't a good idea to aggravate the 73-win team that just added Kevin Durant.

Houston Rockets forward Corey Brewer may not have taken a shot at the Warriors in a recent interview with USA TODAY, but he isn't quite respecting them just yet either.

Here's what Brewer had to say:

For me personally, I really don’t care. They have to go out there and play the game. They can be a super team but you’ve got to go out on the court and play first. The Western Conference is going to be tough this year. The Warriors are going to be great, the Spurs are always good, but I think we added some pieces. Like I said, we added Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson and Coach (Mike) D’Antoni’s coming in, James (Harden) is in great shape this summer, I’ve just seen him. We’re going to be able to compete, but the Western Conference is going to be tough, just like every year.

Brewer's waiting for the Warriors to prove they're a super team on the court first. That's fair.

Brewer's right that the Western Conference is going to be tough again next season. The Warriors and Spurs are the presumed favorites while the Rockets will be one of a handful of interesting teams.

After losing Dwight Howard this summer and adding a few other players like Gordon and Anderson, it's unclear how competitive they'll be yet. Under D'Antoni, they should at least be one of the more entertaining teams in the league. But probably not as entertaining as that team Brewer doesn't care about.
