There have been rumors flying around that Gordon Hayward wants to leave the Boston Celtics to find another team. Hayward has been linked to the Indiana Pacers, and he even has a home in Indiana.

On the daily Locked On Celtics Podcast, host John Karalis and Locked On Pacers host Tony East discussed ways the Celtics and Pacers could make a Hayward trade work:

John Karalis: I think if they did Victor Oladipo and Doug McDermott for Gordon Hayward, and throw in maybe the 14th pick depending on what they decide to do. I think that could work. Basically I'm looking at the Celtics keeping McDermott long term. Then either Oladipo proves that he's healthy and he becomes a player or Oladipo proves that he's healthy and he becomes a valuable trade asset and the Celtics turn around and fill out their bench using an Oldaipo trade. That would be where I want to go with that: Hayward and a pick for Oladipo and McDermott.

Tony East: Wow, this is  hard. We did this with Jrue Holiday trades too. It's just the other team always wants Oldaipo and the Pacers are always gonna want to trade Myles Turner because they're both kind of in limbo with these talks. It's really hard to find the right deal.

John Karalis: You know what you do? And this thought just popped into my head … You get another team involved that's looking for a big, and Charlotte's the one that that just pops up. If the Celtics can get two useful players for Hayward and also McDermott in that deal … that could be the path.

If there's another team that's looking for a big that has a useful bench shooter, then Turner can go there. Their bench shooter can go to Boston, McDermott goes to Boston, and the Pacers get Hayward. That could be the structure of a deal. I think honestly, the one thing that we're coming out of this podcast with is it's tough to accomplish what Indy wants and what Boston wants in a one-on-one deal. You have to probably get a third team involved.
