Two Battlefield 5 Elite Characters, Norman Kingsley and Ilse Schattenwolf are free to claim. Players simply need to log into the game to get them. The fan-made Battlefield Bulletin Twitter account spread the word earlier this week:

Norman Kingsley is the free Elite Character for the Allied side, while Ilse Schattenwolf will represent the Axis side. Both characters usually cost 990 Battlefield Currency, the game's in-game resource. Elites are essentially cosmetic skins and have no effect on gameplay. However, they do have a signature look, persona, voice, and unique melee weapon. Battlefield 5 players on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S are all eligible.

In other Battlefield news, the next game in the series, Battlefield 2042 is already in its playtesting phase. The game's Open Beta details have also already been released. Additionally, the game will not feature a single-player campaign and requires players to be online throughout. Its developers, DICE, have also confirmed that cross-play and cross-progression are in their pipeline.

Battlefield 2042 will also feature a new type of playable soldier – Specialists. They are inspired by traditional Battlefield classes. Each of them will have their own unique trait and specialty. The game will feature 10 of these Specialists when it launches.
