Released internationally for the Nintendo Switch in 2020, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a hack-and-slash video game developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo. The story takes place 100 years before the events of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild A game that is critically acclaimed by gamers all over the world. With the release of part 1 of their Expansion Pass, more and more players are pumped to play the game.

Now that the Pulse of the Ancients DLC is out, many players are already on the verge of unlocking new weapons and more. As you play the DLC, you'll get the chance to unlock plenty of various rewards. But everyone knows what they're really after. The Master Cycle Zero.

What is the Master Cycle Zero?

After completing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's DLC Expansion pack, players were then rewarded with the awesome cyborg-looking motorcycle that Link can use. Series producer Eiji Aonuma wanted to add a motorcycle to Breath of the Wild as playing the game's massive world on a Horse reminded him of the first time he rode a motorcycle. Now, the beast/motorcycle hybrid finally made its way to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. The weapon will be exclusive to Zelda though.

Unlocking the Master Cycle Zero

Allow me to guide you. Basically, all you have to do is complete the requests and challenges at the EX Royal Ancient Lab.

Keep in mind, all Expansion Pass-related quests are indicated with ‘EX', and this one is located in Central Hyrule. Robbie and Purah will then request certain items and the completion of challenges. Once they're completed, the game unlocks a network of nodes and rewards. These include expanded weapon slots, better stats for runes, and awesome weapons such as Link's flails and Zelda's Master Cycle Zero.

It's pretty much straight to the point. Just follow their instructions and collect resources to unlock new nodes on Robbie and Purah's network. For those who have completed the game, getting the materials needed won't be much of a problem. On the contrary, if you do need more materials, you can simply buy them or just keep slaying monsters. It's really up to you.

After completing all of the tasks and getting the materials needed, follow the branching path along to the ‘Top Secret Request', and eventually, you'll unlock three different versions of the Master Cycle Zero. Yup, you read that right. Three.

Keep in mind that a ‘loop' coming off the Top Secret Request node will unlock those variants, and also increases the attack power of the Master Cycle weapons.

The three magnificent Master Cycles

Like I said earlier, there are three versions of this badass bike. The Master Cycle Zero, The Master Cycle Sentinel, and The Master Cycle Hunter. Each representing a different style. The Zero is the bike you'll recognize from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The two, on the other hand, look a bit more stylized with the Sentinel looking like a horse looking straight and steady and the Hunter bearing the face of an eagle.

But what can it do though?

There's really not much difference when it comes to the controls. If you find yourself surrounded, simply push the left stick in the direction you want to go and use a flurry of attacks with the ‘Y' and ‘X' buttons, then a quick dodge on ‘B' and the super move on ‘A' that you build up through destroying enemies.

The bike has its unique rune abilities such as Remote Bombs, Stasis, Cryonis, and Magnesis. All of which, are more than capable of slaying your opponents. The most exciting Master Cycle ability is the Overdrive, which you can trigger by pressing ‘ZR'. That'll give Zelda a temporary burst of speed as well as an increase in her attack. Just be careful not to overheat the thing.

Quick tip for those ‘EX' challenges and quests: If you're a bit short on Challenge requirements, just remember that you can replay early chapters of the game. Levels like The Battle of Hyrule Field could give you an instant boost in getting those rewards. Also, remember to press the ‘L' and ‘R' buttons while you're on the map screen to check your challenges and quest lists. Finish the ones you need and you'll be good to go!
