The Milwaukee Bucks have shown a mutual interest in free agent shooting guard Ian Clark, as the organization looks to add shooting depth to its ranks, according to Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times.

Clark played an important role off the Golden State Warriors‘ bench last season, improving on his 36 percent from beyond the arc in 2015-16 and raising it to 37.4 percent last season for the defending champions.

The Warriors didn't pursue a contract offer with clark, fully aware that the market could offer more than what they would be able to shell out for his services — choosing free agent shooting guard Nick Young to take his place.

The Bucks have been a swing-and-miss during their last few searches for a shooter, failing with the likes of O.J. Mayo, Greivis Vasquez, Rashad Vaughn, Mirza Teletovic, and Matthew Dellavedova.

Clark represents another breed of shooter that has impressed the scouts in Milwaukee.

“He’s better than anyone the Bucks got now,’’ an NBA scout said of Clark’s marksman skills.

“He’s not bad at all. I like him. He can shoot it, no question about that,” another scout said.

“I like him as a shooter, but the question is where do you play him? He’s a tweener. He’s not a true point guard and he’s not a true shooting guard,” a third evaluator said of Clark's skills. “But he could help a team like Milwaukee because they need shooters.’’

The 6-foot-3 Belmont product made only $1 million last season and is reportedly seeking a deal for around $8 million, per Woelfel.
