Isaiah Thomas is reportedly trying to recruit his old friend and mentor, Jamal Crawford, to join the re-developing Celtics.

Now 36 years old, Crawford is a three-time 6th man of the year – including this past 2015-16 season when he averaged 14.2 points a game. It should be a pitch definitely considers given his close friendship with Thomas over the years.

Their story goes back to when Thomas left Seattle to attend high school in New York, which Thomas called “some of the toughest time of his life having to be away from family and friends.”

Also a native of Seattle, Crawford recognized the young Thomas’ situation and took him under his wing and helped him through the transition. He would take young Thomas to Knicks games and allowed him to hang with his family and friends in his White plains apartment on weekends. It gave Thomas a “home away from home” and forged a tight brotherhood between the pair.

Now an all-star, Thomas is beckoning his good friend to join him in Boston after Crawford received a low-ball offer from the Clippers.

It would be great to see the pair re-unite on the court, but given Boston's chase of Kevin Durant, their recent signing of Al Horford, and other offers Crawford has on the table, they many not be a position to aggressively pursue him.
