All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas hasn't been deterred whatsoever by a 4-1 series loss in the Eastern Conference Finals. Instead, he's looking forward to staying with the team long-term.

The Boston Celtics dynamo spoke to reporters during his exit interview, noting his intent to remain with the organization. Still, he understands that where he ends up next season will largely depend on the front office and the decisions made on the business side of things.

“Boston changed my career, changed my life,” Thomas told reporters via A. Sherrod Blakely of CSN New England. “I would love to be here long term and win championships here.”

“But as you guys know, it's a business and anything can happen. I know that, and I understand that, but I would love to be here. This has been everything to me. This city, this organization … it's been good.”

Team president Danny Ainge was rumored to have dangled Thomas in trade talks last season in an effort to nab another first-round draft pick in addition to the one they already had. Ainge will once again be asked to re-assess the state of the roster and make decisions accordingly, which could include Thomas if they indeed tend to go in another direction.

While it's a hypothetical theory, stranger things have happened. Realistically speaking, trading Thomas for an equal value player would be next to impossible given his $6 million bargain after being acquired from the Phoenix Suns.

Despite the strong possibility of drafting Washington standout Markelle Fultz with the No. 1 overall pick, the Celtics will likely keep Thomas put after his outstanding season that saw him become the league's third-leading scorer with a 28.9 points per game average.
