The Boston Celtics have been shell-shocked to begin the 2017 Eastern Conference Finals, losing Game 1 to the Cleveland Cavaliers by 13 which was followed by arguably the worst playoff loss in franchise history in Game 2. Cleveland led by 14 after one quarter, led by 41 at the half, and led by 50 early in the fourth quarter when all the reserves were inserted into the game.

For the Celtics, however, being down 0-2 isn't the worst thing that happened to them entering the weekend. Point Guard and scoring dynamo Isaiah Thomas played 18 first-half minutes, but didn't play the second half after suffering a hip injury. His not returning to the game may have been a product of the score (a 41 point lead at halftime), but Chris Mannix of The Vertical reports that Thomas was taken to a hospital, and that his injury could be significant.

Thomas, the the league's third highest scorer at 28.9 points per game, finished with just 2 points to follow up his 17-point, Game 1 performance. Without their ultimate creator of offense, Boston stands virtually no chance of upsetting the Cavaliers, especially considering the next two games will be in Cleveland.

Stay tuned for the latest on Thomas' status heading into Game 3.
