Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas could be getting acquainted with soon-to-be free agent Gordon Hayward of the Utah Jazz, giving him a follow on Instagram early on Tuesday.

See below:

The Celtics have been on a mission to compete in the East and will need to reload if they hope to take down a powerhouse like the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have cruised to the NBA Finals the past three seasons.

Hayward has been the target of teams looking for a secondary scorer, coming off his best offensive season and averaging a career-high 21.9 points per game. He's been heavily linked to the Celtics given his connection with his former college coach Brad Stevens, who is at the helm of the team.

Boston also has had Indiana Pacers swingman Paul George in its crosshairs, and with a No. 1 overall pick at hand, the possibilities are nearly endless with almost every team in the league salivating for this robustly talented draft class.

The follow was actually rather temporary, as Thomas quickly unfollowed Hayward after news broke out.

Passive-aggressive much?

Notably, Thomas' wife, Kayla Wallace is still following Hayward's wife, Robyn Hayward despite the two All-Stars no longer having a mutual follow.
