While many are considering him as a candidate to win the MVP Award this season, Boston Celtics All-Star Isaiah Thomas was recently asked who he thinks should win the Maurice Podoloff Trophy.

Known for never lacking confidence, especially about his game, the 5-foot-9 point guard surprisingly did not choose himself as the deserving winner of the league's highest individual honor. He shared his top five MVP candidates, in an interview with Brian Scalabrine of CSNNE, and revealed he only considers himself as the third best player of the season.

He named Russell Westbrook, James Harden, himself, Kawhi Leonard, and LeBron James as his favorites to win the plum. It's definitely hard to argue with his choices as all five players are having outstanding campaigns.

Westbrook has had a record-breaking season by tallying 42 triple-doubles, which is the most in any season in league history. Harden, is ranked second in scoring and is leading the NBA with 11.2 assists per game. Leonard and James have both played consistently for their respective teams and are geared for another deep playoff run.

Thomas on the other hand is having his best year as a pro with averages of 28.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game. More importantly, he has led the Celtics' charge and has made it possible for his team to finish the regular season with the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

As he shares the same top five with a lot of people, it's safe to say that whoever wins the MVP Award from the aforementioned stars, have earned it, and will win it against other the candidates who are also equally deserving.
