The Jacksonville Jaguars may have gone just 6-10 this season, but they appear to have a bright future ahead of them.

With Gardner Minshew under center, Leonard Fournette in the backfield and some impressive young wide receivers, the Jaguars' offense is on the rise, and they have some nice pieces defensively.

Still, Jacksonville is in need of some help going into the offseason.

Here are three free agents the Jags should already be targeting:

3. Tyler Eifert, Tight End

The biggest problem for the Jaguars entering free agency is that they won't have a lot of cap room. As a matter of fact, right now, they are in the red and will have to cut some players in order to have any cap space at all.

That means Jacksonville probably won't be able to splurge on any of the top players in free agency, so it may have to try and find low-risk, high-reward candidates.

Like Tyler Eifert.

We know what Eifert can do when he is healthy. The thing is, he rarely is.

Since entering the NFL in 2013, Eifert has played just one full season with the Cincinnati Bengals, which, ironically enough, came this year.

Otherwise, he has played in 15, one, 13, eight, two and four games, respectively.

Due to his injury history, Eifert probably won't command a whole lot of money on the open market, meaning that the Jaguars can potentially get a steal here while filling a major need in the process.

2. George Fant, Offensive Tackle

Staying with the theme of remaining on a tight budget, George Fant could be a terrific option for a Jaguars club that is in desperate need of help along its offensive line.

Fant, who has spent the first four seasons of his career with the Seattle Seahawks, has never been a full-time starter, but has started 24 of the 46 games in which he has played and has been impressive.

The 28-year-old would surely love to have a permanent starting job elsewhere, and Jacksonville could potentially offer him that opportunity.

Unlike fellow free-agent tackles like Bryan Bulaga and Jack Conklin, who will probably get hefty pay days, Fant should be fairly affordable and could represent a great bang-for-your-buck option for someone.

1. Yannick Ngakoue, Defensive End

Yes, the Jaguars' own top free agent is also the primary one they should case this offseason.

Of course, Jacksonville can just slap a franchise tag on Yannick Ngakoue, which is probably what it will end up doing, but it really should be looking to secure Ngakoue for the long haul.

Over the first four years of his career, Ngakoue has been one of the NFL's most consistent pass rushers, totaling 37.5 sacks, and back in 2017, he racked up 12 sacks and six forced fumbles.

At just 24 years old, Ngakoue is already a force, and he is only going to get better from here on out.

The Jags have already seen some casualties on their once-dominant defense, whether that's Jalen Ramsey, Dante Fowler or Malik Jackson.

They absolutely, positively cannot afford to let Ngakoue get away.
