The Jacksonville Jaguars put the quarterback question to rest this past Saturday when they signed Blake Bortles to a three-year, $54 million contract extension. In the days to come, there will undoubtedly be more guys from his draft class signing extensions. But there’s are probably going to be a lot larger as Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk speculates.

While Bortles has had some great moments, he’s had plenty of bad ones too. His 2016 season was one he’d like to forget, but he did guide the team to the AFC Championship last season. But many in his draft class have been more consistent than him and will likely dwarf his deal with what they sign.

The following guys are all due to sign extensions and should get paid very well when they do:

  • Jadeveon Clowney, Houston Texans, outside linebacker
  • Khalil Mack, Oakland Raiders, defensive end
  • Jake Mathews, Atlanta Falcons, offensive tackle
  • Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, wide receiver
  • Anthony Barr, Minnesota Vikings, linebacker
  • Eric Ebron, Detroit Lions, tight end
  • Taylor Lewan, Tennessee Titans, offensive tackle
  • Odell Beckham Jr., New York Giants, wide receiver
  • Aaron Donald, Los Angeles Rams, defensive tackle

Ebron is the only one who will not get offered a significant dollar amount with his extension. While he has had some moments, he has been inconsistent. Clowney’s may be a little lower than he’d like because of his injury history, but his extension will still make him a very wealthy man. Odell Beckham Jr. and Aaron Donald have been vocal about their contract demands. Chances are, they will get exactly what they want.
