Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles almost got his truck stolen by a teenager Wednesday night. Luckily, he and a couple of his Jags teammates were able to stop the thieving teen just in the nick of time.

According to TMZ, the whole incident went down at a party in Jags offensive lineman Brandon Linder’s house, which Bortles and teammate Chris Reed went to.

An 18-year-old by the name of Joseph Horton found his way to the house and crashed the party. He was somehow able to steal Bortles’ wallet and was even about to leave with the quarterback’s black Ford F-150. Apparently, Bortles left his truck unlocked with the keys inside. But Horton was boxed in by other cars around the house and couldn’t make his escape.

Horton foolishly decided to go back inside the house, which gave the Jags players the opportunity to stop him until the police arrived. He was subsequently charged with burglary, grand theft and trespassing.

It should be noted that all of this would have been easily avoided had Bortles been more careful with his stuff. It’s one thing for his wallet to get stolen, but it’s completely astounding that he was careless enough to leave his truck unlocked with the keys inside. It also doesn’t speak highly of his two offensive linemen’s ability to protect their quarterback’s stuff.

Thankfully, the three of them were eventually able to get their act together to prevent the NFL quarterback's expensive truck and wallet from committing an embarrassing turnover to a pesky teenager.
