Last year, the Jacksonville Jaguars made the AFC championship game, but things changed big time and they were one of the worst teams in the AFC in 2018. Even with the struggles, defensive end Calais Campbell still thinks the team has a ton of potential.

“We have the potential still,” Campbell said via the Jaguars team website.

There are a lot of questions about who will be on this team next year and there is a chance that Campbell could be cut to save a bit of cap space, although he expects to be back. Campbell thinks with just a few small adjustments and with the star players coming back, the defense can back on the right track next year.

“There’s a lot to learn from this year as a whole – all the different things we went through,” Campbell said. “There’s so much talent on this team. But obviously you saw this year, talent doesn’t really mean much. Its’s execution that’s going to take the floor. When we hit the reset button, we have a chance to go out and do something special next year.”

The defense was such a key part of the Jaguars team last year and covered up a lot of the struggles the offense had. With the defense not performing as well this season, it made the struggles of the offense glare and it's a big reason why they only finished with five wins and in last place in the AFC South.

It's going to be an interesting offseason for the Jaguars and it's going to start with what they do at quarterback and will trickle down from there.
