Jacksonville Jaguars running back Carlos Hyde went from being the bell cow with the Cleveland Browns to having a hard time seeing the field, and he is frustrated. Hyde is stuck behind Leonard Fournette and T.J. Yeldon, and it makes some question why they made the trade to get him in the first place.

“I went from starter [Cleveland] to not getting the ball at all, down to third string,” said Hyde via The Florida Times-Union. “Yes, it’s frustrating but I have to be patient for my time to come back around. When it comes, I’ll be ready.”

Hyde did get a few more carries against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, but that was only because Fournette was ejected, not because he was part of the game plan.

“The only reason I got more [carries] was because Leonard went out,” Hyde said. “I just want to play more and be more involved.”

Hyde will get more carries on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts because of the one-game suspension Fournette will be serving. The Jaguars were one of the best running games in the league last year, but this year the production has taken a big plummet. Hyde puts some of the blame for the inability to run the ball on the passing game not being a threat.

“I feel like our running game is always working,” Hyde said. “But you can run only so much before a team starts playing the run and you have to start passing the ball. You can’t just be a one-dimensional team in this league.”

Struggling quarterback Blake Bortles has been benched, making way for Cody Kessler.

Hyde has just 27 carries for 93 yards and zero touchdowns in Jacksonville.
