Chris Conley is heading into a new situation for the first time in his career. The wide receiver was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2015, and spent the first four years of his career there. They always had the same coach in Andy Reid, so it was a stable situation for Conley.

Now he's facing the first real change of his career, as he inked a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a free agent this March.

It's a big adjustment, and Conley acknowledged that recently when talking to reporters after practice Tuesday, via the team's official site.

“I’m just trying to adapt,” Conley said.

“It’s a new situation,” he explained. “I’ve got a new coach, new guys I’m in the huddle with, new/old quarterback, new environment, heat – all of that. I’m really just trying to adjust, find my place and make my mark.”

Conley is very pleased with how everything has gone so far with the Jaguars, and believes he's set up well for success.

“Our coaches have done a good job of getting me up to speed and equating things I did in the past offense I was in to what we’re doing now. They’ve done a great job of catching me up and the quarterbacks have done a phenomenal job of giving me a chance,” he said.

Conley never played a massive role on offense with the Chiefs, but he was always a solid contributor and role player. In 16 games and 13 starts last year, he racked up 32 catches for 334 yards and five touchdowns.

He'll be going from Patrick Mahomes to Nick Foles under center, but he has the chance to earn a much bigger role this offseason.
