The Jacksonville Jaguars made a splash with the addition of quarterback Nick Foles this offseason. It appears no one is more excited about his arrival than wide receiver Dede Westbrook.

The Jaguars pulled the trigger on parting ways with quarterback Blake Bortles in exchange for Foles going into the 2019 NFL season. According to John Reid of The Florida Times-Union, Westbrook has already noticed the difference at practice:

″Nothing against Blake at all. I mean, Blake is a great friend of mine. But to be out there with Nick, a Super Bowl MVP quarterback, obviously, that’s what we’ve been lacking,″ Westbrook said. ″For me to go out there and pretty much showcase my skill with one of the best quarterbacks in the league is going to be a huge thing. Not only for me, but the guys around me.″

Westbrook's comments are certainly understandable. It is not often that a Super Bowl MVP quarterback hits the market and is able to join a team that has long lacked any stability under center. The Jaguars are hoping to take advantage with a potential resurgence in 2019.

There is good reason for Westbrook to be optimistic. Despite Bortles' struggles, the former fourth-round pick finished the 2018 campaign with 66 receptions for 717 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. It is safe to say that he could see an increase in his target workload with Foles now in town.

As a result, Westbrook will be doing what he can to establish himself as the safety net for Foles in this offense.
