The 2019 NFL campaign was an interesting one for the Jacksonville Jaguars, to say the least.

The Jaguars entered the season with some excitement due to the presence of Nick Foles at quarterback, but that didn't take long to change, as Foles suffered a broken collarbone in the first quarter of his debut.

Foles was relieved by rookie signal-caller Gardner Minshew, who looked very impressive in Week 1 and put together several more strong outings before finally giving way to a healthy Foles in Week 10.

However, Foles struggled in his first three outings back from injury, resulting in Minshew supplanting him as the starter midway through his third game back in Week 13.

Minshew would proceed to hold the starting job for the remainder of the season.

This has obviously created quite the situation in Jacksonville, as Foles has three years remaining on his deal and looks to be the backup as of right now.

Still, Jags head coach Doug Marrone says he has not made a decision on what will happen under center in 2020:

“When do you make that decision? There’s not really a date,” Marrone said, via Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports. “It’s not really going to happen until we start playing, in the preseason, because for me, at that position, one of the things that’s important is that the players can see who the best player is. You have an obligation to everyone in that locker room that you’re putting the best player out there.”

At this point, that player looks to be Minshew, as the youngster clearly outperformed Foles this past year.

Of course, committing to a quarterback right now would do Marrone no good, as it could also potentially hurt Foles' trade value if the Jaguars decide to try and move him this offseason.
