The Jacksonville Jaguars are among several teams set to usher in changes to their coaching staff potentially. It appears there will be much more clarity on head coach Doug Marrone's future as the week plays out.

According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Marrone is set to meet with the Jaguars front office. “Jaguars’ ownership and HC Doug Marrone are scheduled to meet Tuesday morning, per sources,” said Schefter.

There is no question that there will be several subjects of discussion. The most pressing is the lack of improvement under Marrone after leading the Jaguars to a 21-27 record under his tenure thus far.

The fact that the Jaguars still have yet to make a decision indicates that they could be interested in giving him another shot. This team had a number of issues stemming from former vice president of football operations Tom Coughlin, and it ultimately wound up having a negative effect on the culture in the locker room.

Meanwhile, general manager Dave Caldwell may have to be held accountable at some point as well since he has been in charge since the 2013 campaign. He has helped put together just one winning season during that time, which came in 2017 when Marrone was promoted as the head coach.

Regardless, there is no denying that the Jaguars have failed to build on that momentum and the departure of cornerback Jalen Ramsey and others raise questions about the direction of the Jaguars. It is safe to say that there should be much more clarity on the situation following the meeting.
